JOHN MACK SR.
JOHN GRADUATED FROM NEW HAVEN HIGH SCHOOL IN 1964.
WHILE AT NEW HAVEN, JOHN WON 13 VARSITY LETTERS IN FOUR SPORTS. HE WAS NAMED ALL-LEAGUE, ALL-COUNTY, ALL-BLUE WATER AREA, AND ALL-STATE IN FOOTBALL AND ALL-LEAGUE, ALL-COUNTY, AND ALL-BLUE WATER AREA IN BASEBALL AND TRACK.
JOHN WAS A PART OF ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL SPORTS PROGRAMS AT NEW HAVEN HIGH SCHOOL. IN HIS SENIOR YEAR, THE FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, AND TRACK TEAMS WERE UNDEFEATED, AND THE BASEBALL TEAM ONLY LOST ONE GAME.
HE ATTENDED ANCHOR BAY BIBLE INSTITUTE FOR THREE YEARS, S.J. WILLIAMS SCHOOL OF RELIGION FOR TWO YEARS AND OAKLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
JOHN WORKED AT GENERAL MOTORS AS A SKILLED TRADES TOOL AND DIE MAKER BEFORE RETIRING AFTER 32 ½ YEARS. HE HAS BEEN MARRIED FOR 33 YEARS AND HAS SEVEN CHILDREN. HE WAS CALLED INTO THE MINISTRY IN 1979 AND AND HAS BEEN THE SENIOR PASTOR OF GREATER NEW HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH SINCE 1984. HE SERVES AS A RELIGIOUS VOLUNTEER AT THE MACOMB COUNTY JAIL AND IS ON THE ADVISORY BOARD AT THE MACOMB CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.
HE ALSO ENJOYS VOLUNTEERING TWICE A MONTH AT NEW HAVEN HIGH SCHOOL WHERE HE HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS MANY SOCIAL ISSUES IN A CLASSROOM SETTING.
