CLIFF DUNCAN
ATHLETE OF THE YEAR 1965. WHILE AT NEW HAVEN, CLIFF WON 10 VARSITY LETTERS IN 4 SPORTS. HE ALSO PLAYED ON 7 CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS, WITH THE HIGHLIGHT BEING HIS JUNIOR YEAR WHEN NEW HAVEN WON CHAMPIONSHIPS IN ALL 4 MAJOR SPORTS (FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, BASEBALL AND TRACK). HE RECEIVED ALL-LEAGUE RECOGNITION IN ALL 4 SPORTS. CLIFF ALSO WAS CAPTAIN OF BOTH FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL TEAMS IN HIS FINAL 2 SEASONS.
WHILE ATTENDING SPRING ARBOR COLLEGE, HE PARTICIPATED IN BASKETBALL, SOCCER AND BASEBALL. CLIFF ALSO LED HIS COLLEGE BASEBALL TEAM IN HITTING HIS JUNIOR YEAR WITH A .361 AVERAGE.
CLIFF HAS COACHED FOR 23 YEARS AT NEW HAVEN. HE COACHED 4 CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS IN BASKETBALL AND WAS VOTED COACH OF THE YEAR IN THE STA 4 TIMES. IN 1983, HE WAS VOTED DETROIT METRO EAST COACH OF THE YEAR. CLIFF HAS ALSO COACHED THE FOOTBALL TEAM TO A CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE LEAGUE IN 1989. IN THAT SAME YEAR, HE WAS NOT ONLY VOTED STA COACH OF THE YEAR, BUT ALSO REGIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR. HE ALSO COACHED BASEBALL.
CLIFF HAS BEEN ACTIVE IN YOUTH BASEBALL IN NEW HAVEN, ANCHOR BAY, AND LANCE CRUESE NORTH. HE ALSO SERVED ON THE CHESTERFIELD RECREATION COMMITTEE AND HELPED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF POLLARD PARK.
